Sinfonia
Launched in 2016, the OSYO Sinfonia is great opportunity for young players to get their first taste of making music in an ensemble setting. Providing an introduction to orchestral performance, the Sinfonia offering directed training for young musicians with minimal experience who play violin, viola, cello or bass. Under the direction of conductor, Caron Allen, the Sinfonia offers an excellent opportunity for young players looking for an ensemble experience.
Under the direction of Caron Allen, the Sinfonia performs 3 concerts annually at venues throughout the Halton area.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 pm at Kings Christian Collegiate 528 Burnhamthorpe Rd West in Oakville. Musicians (and parents) are welcome to sit in and watch the rehearsal of our other ensembles to help immerse themselves in the orchestral experience. Rehearsals run from September through to May. Auditions are held in late May and early September, however, additional auditions can be scheduled through the season for new members.
